Tayha Smith, MA, APC

I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in psychology from the University of West Georgia. I work with children, adolescents, and adults and have experience assisting with anxiety, depression, mood and emotional instability, life transitions, identity development, grief, relationships, and trauma.

I have developed a passion for working with children and adolescents and utilize play therapy to gain insight into a child’s internal world and how they make meaning of their circumstances and experiences. Parenting can be challenging and I enjoy supporting parents in gaining deeper understanding into their child’s developmental needs, what their behaviors may be communicating, and how shifting relational energy into your child’s behaviors can create a more cohesive and peaceful home environment.

My therapeutic disposition is one of curiosity and compassion rooted in humanistic, person-centered, interpersonal, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and trauma-informed therapies. I believe the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to growth and transformation and I have a strong devotion to facilitating a safe and empathic space for you to be deeply heard and accepted. I strive to understand your unique lived experience as best as I can, support your discovery of patterns and beliefs that may not be serving you, empower you to utilize your wisdom and discernment to navigate your struggles, and ultimately help you love yourself through your process.
