Katie Davis, MAMFT, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration, in Economics at The University of Georgia and went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy degree at Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia.

During my internship I enjoyed working with child, adolescent, and adult patients that were involved in a Partial Hospitalization Program. I led psychoeducational groups, mental health process groups, and expressive activities. Additionally, I provided individual and couples counseling 4 to 6 hours a week at a private practice that was run by Richmont Graduate University.

I went on to work in community mental health primarily serving families involved with the Department of Family and Child Services and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Here I provided counseling, crisis management, and supervision of parents and children during visitations. Additionally, I worked with students at Central High School who were struggling with mental health issues.

I primarily work with ages 10+. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and enjoy working with those who have experienced trauma and those who are looking to make changes to improve their life. EMDR is also useful for treating other conditions such as anxiety and depression. I bring a solution-focused approach that is easily tailored to children, adolescents, and adults. I believe in meeting with clients where they are and working to build seeds of growth and healing through a client-centered, compassionate approach.
